The Teaching Show is live.

I've got the first episode of our all-new Teaching Show published now at TeachingShow.com.

And in this first episode, I had the privilege of interviewing Marci Samayoa, aka Miss Sam, or Science in the Making, on Twitter about how she teaches vocabulary in 10th grade science.

So check that out.

It's up now at TeachingShow.com.

And here's what I want to do with this show.

I want to highlight practice and And there are some practices that cut across all disciplines, like we talked about phase reading from Teach Like a Champion, and we'll continue talking about that.

I think I'm going to talk with Doug Lamov pretty soon, or someone from his team about phase reading, which Marcy talks about and just goes into a lot of depth on.

I want to talk about those cross-cutting strategies that we can use in any grade and any subject, but I also want to talk about how they apply to specific subjects and specific grades, like Marcy teaches chemistry.

and you might teach biology, you might teach third grade social studies, and you can use some of these same strategies.

I think we need to not shy away from those differences because as I've said before, I think one of the challenges with things like using a teacher evaluation framework like Danielson to improve is they're written across the board, they're written generically, and yet they look so different in different subjects.

So if you are a band director, if you are a PE teacher, I think it is worth talking about how you teach.

And I would like to interview you about how you teach.

If you have a technique that is worth sharing, if you have a strategy that is worth sharing, hit me up, let me know, and maybe we can do an interview for an upcoming episode of The Teaching Show.
